I just loved this scene.

It isn’t shown until later, but Lance and Hunk were the only paladins freeing and ensuring the freedom of planets with the Blade of Marmora. Keith is looking for Shiro. Pidge is searching for Matt.

Essentially the Blade of Marmora interact the most with Lance and Hunk, and Lance is the person in charge of the missions as well as the safety of everyone, including the Blade of Marmora. He doesn’t take all the credit either when it was offered to him. Not only that, but Kolivan looks to Lance in this situation to deal with the peace talks. So in terms of experience in leading a team, Lance has more experience than Keith.
