reminder to NOT look at the solar eclipse on monday without glasses specifically certified!!! you know how if you hold a magnifying glass up to the sun, the intensity is enough to start a fire??? same concept applies with the lens in your eye except it burns a hole into your retina instead…… I know you’re probably like “it’s for like 20 seconds so what” but even fractions of a second can do irreversible damage so plz protect your eyeballs!!!
It’s also worth doing some research for signs of eye/retinal damage. This is especially true if you’re concerned you might have damaged your eyes, but haven’t noticed any immediate effects. Some symptoms can be delayed, or otherwise not readily apparent (due to a lack of pain, for example).
Get eclipse glasses directly from your ophthalmologist if you can, and/or get a recommendation on brands of glasses that are legit. If you can’t, make sure to google ahead of time which brands of glasses are certified to block the correct wavelengths. Don’t use regular sunglasses and assume your eyes are protected.
