This book/show/movie has representation!

But is it good representation? Is it real representation? Who is it for? Who was it made by? What is it’s purpose?

Does the character have a full scope of themselves? Or are they a flat stereotype used as a plot device for the “real” characters? Is their existence there for pure comedy relief and nothing else based on stereotypes? Or as a sad tragic warning to others based on stereotypes?

Representation without heart, without reseach, without an understanding is meaningless at best and hurtful and cruel at it’s worst.
