Siderite after Calcite –
Turt Mine, Satu Mare, Maramures Co., Romania

Brown sparkling crystals of siderite replacing larger rhombohedral
crystals of what were once calcite, these measuring to 3.5 cm on edge,
all over a crystallized quartz matrix. The calcite is now completely
gone.
