I actually had a similar discussion with @dandelion-stuff-and-fluff on this topic, and there’s one more element that was missing: Venous blood has already been stripped of the good stuff. All the oxygen, all the nutrients it was carrying out to the cells has been absorbed, and on the return it’s carrying only CO2 and waste products.
I guess it depends on how the vampire’s metabolism works, but biologically speaking, there’s just not much to *get* out of venous blood; it would be like drinking diluted piss with some added iron (she said.)
