Insecurity is not a reason here, because Marinette isn’t insecure with Chat Noir. Not like she gets with Adrien, who intimidates her a little because she has a crush on him. Marinette trusts Chat, and feels free to be open and honest with him (I mentioned this once before, but Marinette has never lied to Chat in all of Season 1, that I can recall. As Ladybug OR herself. She might tease him sometimes like friends do, but she’s always COMPLETELY honest with him)
I heartily admit that things got out of control here and I broke all sorts of design “rules” that the outfits in Lolirock have but I had a lot of fun working on these!!
Okay okay, there’s a story behind this. I really like the idea that sometimes Chat has a little too much cat in him from the suit. Sometimes he can’t help but do silly cat things.
So my cat has access to an enclosed area outside on the deck, but the top is open, so leaves fall in. During the night she brings leaves inside into the bedroom like she’s bringing in presents? And she’s like “wow these are great I have to share these with the human.”
And the two ideas kind of mingled and I thought it would be really cute if Chat runs up to Marinette or Ladybug and is like “look what I found for you isn’t it great?” And she’s super confused but still kind of touched. And later Adrien is just like “What was I thinking.”
Happy 2nd anniversary to Miraculous Ladybug! This show transcended my ability to describe what it meant to me about a year and a half ago. It’s probably saved my life and it’s also given me a whole slew of friends. I am forever grateful, more than I could ever possibly elucidate.
My old converse were ratty and I decided it was time to do what I’ve wanted to do roughly since this moment in the show: paint the iconic umbrella scene on a pair of shoes.
